I don’t know what to do, I need to hear God’s will quickly!
My situation is irrelevant, as most of us feel this way at least weekly. We desire to do God’s will but we have a hard time discerning it. Situations where God’s will is right on the printed page are easy. The situations where there is no doubt what He is saying aren’t ones I’m thinking of.
But how do we approach the areas of life where we aren’t necessarily faced with decisions where one path is clearly marked WRONG WAY and the other path is marked YES, This Way. Or we are waiting on a voice to tell us which to take?
*How do I know if this is the job for me or is God leading me to quit? Or wait? Or stay home?
*Should I commit my time, money, effort, or resources to this cause? Well what about this one? Should I do both?
*College? What do I want to be when I grow up? How do I know what to study?
*Should I marry him? Go out with him?
*Sugar is more addictive than heroin, am I addicted? Should I live under anything with that kind of power of me?
We could go on and on with situations, where we desire to follow God, but rarely are we afforded the time for Him to respond. Or so it seems.
If we have the desire then why does following God’s will seem so mysterious?
